STOLI
- acronym for "STranger Originated Life Insurance" - is when an investor persuades an insured to purchase or finance life insurance for the sole purpose of reselling that policy at a future date. This type of pre-arranged transaction is a violation of the insurance interests in most states. Also known as "IOLI" Investor Originated Life Insurance.
